BEHIND THE PROJECT, CHUNG-YI YANG

A visionary project that seamlessly blends cultural influences from East and West. Designed by ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, the Dongzhimen 8 penthouses in Beijing—a prestigious addition to a building soaring over 30 floors—stand as a testament to the universality of exceptional interior design. The project has been guided by Chung-Yi Yang, partner of ACPV ARCHITECTS.

ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel is an international collective with the aim of nurturing shared well-being through unique, high-profile architectural solutions worldwide. Founded in 2000 by Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, the studio is currently enhanced by the creativity of more than 200 professionals and the leadership of 13 partners. From urban planning to residential and mixed-use developments, from corporate campuses to public buildings and hotels, each ACPV ARCHITECTS project embodies a new vision where nature and the noblest human aspirations can find new centrality.

DONGZHIMEN 8, PENTHOUSES

The Dongzhimen 8 project, defined by its expansive window openings that frame sweeping panoramic views of Beijing, includes 21 penthouses spread across the top seven floors of the building. Each residence is uniquely designed, offering three distinct layouts to suit different lifestyles. Reflecting ACPV ARCHITECTS’ signature approach to interior design, the penthouses showcase a carefully curated palette of materials, including marble finishes in the bathrooms and textured clay ceilings adorned with nature-inspired motifs. Central to the interiors is the incorporation of Maxalto’s furniture, renowned for its refined craftsmanship and material innovation. This selection reflects an aspiration to create adaptable, timeless, and sophisticated living spaces that narrate a story of design excellence.

“When we design, following Antonio Citterio’s approach, we always imagine people, how they arrive, how they enter, how they move… In essence, how people interact with space becomes one of the guidelines of the project.”
